The Grand Cane Pioneer Days Christmas Parade is set for the 2nd
of December. Please stop by the Gallery to see the fantastic art on display by our feature artist Patsy Atkins. She will be here from 10 – 2 to talk about her process and inspiration for anyone interested. She does some truly amazing work and we’re sure you’ll find something that peaks your interest, such as these beautiful miniatures.
Don Edwards has graciously offered to donate a framed/signed print to the Gallery for a drawing.
He is our feature artist for next Saturday the 21st during the Grand Cane Car Show.
Visit the Gallery, check out Don’s beautiful artwork along with other pieces by our many artists, and receive a ticket for the drawing that will be held at 1:45 PM.
The winner may select from a number that Don will have on hand. Among those will be his iconic “Red Headed Woodpecker”.
The Historic Village of Grand Cane will host the annual Pioneer Christmas Parade, featuring all horse and mule drawn vehicles and folks in pioneer costumes on Saturday, December 3, 2016. The parade route through the heart of the Historic District brings in throngs of visitors and the DeSoto Arts Council Gallery will be all decked out for Christmas and ready to welcome one and all to a Feature Artist Show by Gloria Peters.
What makes Peters’ show extra special is the fact that she LOVES CHRISTMAS!
Her show will be a wonderland of Christmas art for everyone! Plan to stop by the Gallery from 10 am – 2 pm, visit with the artist and enjoy Christmas refreshments. Mark your calendars and see you there!
The DeSoto Arts Council Gallery is privileged to offer a collection of original gemstone jewelry created by the late DAC Gallery Artist, Bill Hart. Hart’s family donated his inventory to the DAC in his memory and DAC receives all of the proceeds from the sale of his unique, original jewelry art.
Lapidary Art is defined as creating art from stone, minerals or gemstones and Bill Hart was a master Lapidary Artist! He learned his art of cutting, grinding and polishing his pieces to showcase their natural beauty, while stationed in Japan while serving in the U. S. Air Force some 40 years ago. His pieces include necklaces, pendants, belt buckles and bolos. Many of his pieces are offered at reduced or half price and include an assortment of necklace chains. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and see first-hand this collection of one-of-a-kind jewelry art, offered at sale prices. Each heirloom quality piece will make a treasured personal piece or a special gift. DAC Gallery hours: Thurs – Sat, 10 am – 1:30 pm. Our DAC Gallery Volunteers are always happy to welcome visitors and share the beautiful art on display.
